In almost every logistics operation, drivers work with specialised workflow or delivery apps. These apps support delivery confirmation, returns processing, damage handling and payments. For navigation, however, a separate navigation app is often still used. That is exactly where friction appears in the process.

An extra stop, a changed sequence, a revisited delivery or an additional charging moment for an electric vehicle? In a delivery operation, routes change regularly. Often these changes are communicated by phone or processed within the delivery app.

Is the driver already on the road? Then the route often needs to be interrupted and set up again. This leads to extra actions in the cabin and unnecessary noise in the process. Simacan Drive processes stop and route changes directly from the platform into the navigation. As soon as the planning changes, the route automatically updates. Order handling and route guidance remain logically separated, but fully aligned. The driver does not need to restart or re-enter anything and can stay fully focused on traffic. No disruptions, safer driving.

Trip information
One plan, one reality.

In many delivery operations, a delivery app works perfectly well, yet navigation still functions as a standalone tool. And that is exactly where friction arises. Simacan Drive is connected navigation. The Simacan platform forms the connecting layer between your planning and/or TMS and the in-cab navigation. Planning is processed and enriched within the Simacan platform and then automatically appears in Drive, including sequence, planned times and relevant location data.

If the planning changes, that adjustment is immediately pushed to the navigation via the platform. Even while navigating. The driver does not need to restart or enter anything again. Instructions and enriched location data are automatically passed to the app. Navigation therefore does not operate alongside your process, but is technically and operationally embedded within it.

Drive with confidence. The right logistical route.

If traffic builds up or a road is closed, Drive automatically calculates an alternative route. Simacan originates from traffic intelligence and, together with TomTom®, provides data for the national daily traffic information by ANWB. While many systems consume traffic data, Simacan stands at its source. We understand not only that traffic changes, but also why, and what that means for logistics.

This traffic intelligence feeds directly into Simacan Drive. Rerouting takes route and location characteristics into account, such as the vehicle profile and the correct entry point at the next stop. Does the driver receive an overload of information? No.
While driving, Drive displays a calm and clear map view with only the information needed at that moment. For the driver, this means clear and reliable route guidance that aligns with the planning.

From planning data to targeted navigation.

When the driver approaches the destination, more relevant delivery context automatically appears. In logistics an address alone is rarely sufficient. Local information about where to park, a supplier entrance or a specific access route makes the difference between a smooth delivery and unnecessary delay.

The location information in Drive does not come from a single source. Simacan combines planning data, location management and map enrichment and shows exactly the information that is relevant at that moment. Simacan Drive therefore navigates not only to an address, but to the right place. Without the driver needing to touch the screen. Fewer actions. Less distraction. More focus on the road.
Delivery information
Instructions travel with your trip.

In many operations delivery instructions are stored in a delivery app or note field, while navigation functions separately. That means switching between screens, searching for details and performing additional actions during the trip. Simacan Drive works differently. Upon arrival, Drive automatically switches from navigation view to arrival view showing house numbers, the correct entrance and how to reach it. Detailed instructions such as a dock number or a specific delivery note appear on screen.

If multiple stops are located within the same building or on the same site, such as in an apartment complex, Drive recognises this. The screen shows: “The next stop is also located in this building or on this site.” This prevents unnecessary actions and keeps execution logical and efficient.

Works alongside your existing delivery app

Simacan Drive does not replace your delivery or workflow app. The app works alongside it and strengthens your existing process. How Simacan Drive works together with other systems is explained under Integrations.

Simacan Drive brings calm to the cabin. While driving, the driver only sees the navigation screen. No delivery details or unnecessary information. When approaching a stop location, the relevant delivery context appears automatically. Think of house numbers, the correct entrance or specific instructions.
Trip changes are processed automatically in the navigation. New stops or changed sequences appear directly in the route without restart or manual input. Less switching between apps. Less distraction. More focus on safe and efficient driving.

Transport planner and transport coordinator

For planners and transport coordinators, Simacan Drive offers real-time insight into the execution of the planning. New stops or changes in stop order immediately appear in the route and the navigation adjusts automatically. Planning, TMS and navigation remain synchronised with the operation.
Because office and cabin work with the same trip information, the number of phone calls decreases and execution becomes more predictable.

Simacan Drive is built for scale. One region or a European transport network, the architecture grows with your organisation.
In modern logistics, delivery apps and navigation each have their own role. The delivery app supports order processes and administrative actions. Navigation controls vehicle logic and route decisions. Simacan Drive protects that separation. Route changes and rerouting are handled inside the navigation while planning logic remains intact.
The app runs on Android 12 and higher and supports Single Sign-On. Integration with Mobile Device Management solutions such as SOTI and Microsoft Intune allows central rollout and management. Thanks to an API-first architecture and open standards, Simacan Drive integrates easily with existing IT landscapes and transport management systems.

Integrations

Simacan Drive does not replace existing apps but works alongside them. The app starts from a workflow or delivery app, just like drivers start navigation today. At the same time, Drive receives real-time trip and stop data from the Simacan platform. Route, stops and planning changes stay synchronised with the logistics operation.
If you do not use a delivery app yet, Simacan Drive also works independently as a driver application. The app provides insight into planned stops, trip progress and turn-by-turn route guidance.
