PostNL Transport utilizes the Simacan Control Tower for the real-time operational monitoring of their transport between warehouses, sorting centres, and large customers. The PostNL control room, which operates 24/7, is staffed with several coordinators across three shifts. These coordinators work as a team to monitor and manage all transport operations.

PostNL’s fleet management and charter integration with real-time visibility

The operations cover two types of transport: PostNL’s own fleet, managed via LogiApp, and charters, managed via App2Track. During daytime operations, most trips are executed by PostNL’s own fleet, while at night the majority of trips are carried out by charters.

In the control room, planners have a real-time, comprehensive view of all vehicle movements, including both their own fleet and subcontracted vehicles. This overview reflects the live situation against the planned schedule, enriched with up-to-date traffic information. From this central point, they can monitor performance, detect deviations instantly, and proactively manage operations to ensure optimal execution.
