Simacan as the tech backbone

To achieve this level of control, KSZ uses the Simacan Control Tower as the central nervous system of its operation. This is where everything comes together: trip data, live location information, deviations, loading instructions and customer agreements. All in real time and fully integrated with KSZ’s own transport management system (TMS).
Planners have immediate insight into trip execution. Is there a delay? Trips are adjusted. Is something off? Action is taken proactively. No phone calls, no spreadsheets, just clear, real-time visibility.
The integration between the TMS and Simacan works both ways. Customers who also use Simacan can plan trips directly themselves, making collaboration smoother and faster.

A physical base for digital growth

To strengthen both growth and operational control, KSZ is building a brand-new 10,000 m² warehouse. The new facility will also house a modern office and a spacious parking area with charging stations for the electric fleet. The warehouse is designed with maximum efficiency, scalability and sustainability in mind.

People at the heart of the digital chain

But technology is only half the story. KSZ invests just as much in its people as it does in systems, especially in its drivers. Through its own digital academy, drivers receive training before their very first trip. From HACCP (food safety) and GDP certifications (pharmaceutical transport) to on-board computer use and urban traffic awareness, the goal is crystal clear: every driver is a KSZ ambassador. They need to understand the game and be able to explain it, if not in Dutch, then in clear English.

Drivers are supported by mentors, spend three days riding along, and gain insights into their own driving behaviour through dashboards. This motivates, leads to safer and more fuel-efficient driving, and strengthens engagement across the board.

Driving sustainable progress

When it comes to sustainability, KSZ is looking ahead. The company is rolling out 22 electric trucks for urban store deliveries. But it’s not just about the vehicles, it’s about the bigger picture: smart charging infrastructure and intelligent planning. Trucks charge at customer locations like Jumbo, but also at KSZ’s own sites, powered by solar panels and equipped with buffer capacity.

Thanks to Simacan’s real-time charging insights, KSZ can soon plan charging times more efficiently, avoid unnecessary waiting, and analyse EV performance based on live data.
