Shippeo and Simacan join forces to offer true end-to-end visibility and predictability throughout the supply chain
Shippeo, a global leader and European specialist in real-time transportation visibility and Simacan, the Dutch market leader in last-mile execution management have announced a strategic partnership to break supply chain silos.
By combining their innovative platforms, both companies want to offer full life-cycle management of transport orders without any compromises on security or data completeness. The 360 insights in the full supply chain performance will help their customers to reduce the total cost-to-serve and reduce existing buffers in planning and stock due to the increased visibility and predictability, all the way from the factory to the end customer.
With over 100 customers including global brands like Coca-Cola HBC, Faurecia and Total, Shippeo offers a best-in-market ETA prediction in terms of accuracy and reliability as well as a more granular degree of multimodal tracking, right down to handling unit and goods levels, which supports all modes of transport including ocean, road, LTL and FTL.
Since its inception in 2013, Simacan has been dedicated to the road freight transport supply chain. The company has successfully created value for the largest supermarket chains in the Netherlands and for market-leading courier, express and parcel (CEP) companies. The Dutch market leader in last-mile execution has fulfilled coordinating roles in sector-wide innovation projects together with worldwide players such as Intel, Ericsson, Siemens, and TomTom.
Federated platforms
The two companies strongly believe in the concept of federated platforms, where companies form data alliances to improve supply chain efficiency and sustainability together. Traditionally, inbound and outbound flows in the supply chain are often treated as separate segments. Digitalisation now makes it possible to connect these parts of the supply chains and organise them better from a more holistic approach.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Simacan as it marks a new era in the real-time transportation industry. We are always looking for ways to provide our customers with a more integrated, collaborative supply chain and Simacan’s platform will allow that by offering smart last-mile execution management”, says Dennis van Bodegom, Director Northern Europe at Shippeo.
“With a network of 140k carriers and 850+ TMS, telematics and ELD systems, Shippeo brings the expertise of long haul and international flows, while Simacan uses the power of its smart delivery execution platform to enable deliveries in urban logistics with minimal waste. We strongly think that data alliances are key to closing the gap between first and last-mile.”
“Both Shippeo's and Simacan’s services can offer a higher value to joint customers that want to manage both global multimodal shipping and/or long-haul shipping, combined with regional finely meshed distribution networks. Together, Shippeo and Simacan form a strong pan-European player in the visibility and execution management market”, explains Rob Schuurbiers, CEO of Simacan.
Simacan & Shippeo will be jointly participating at the ICT & Logistics fair on the 10th & 11th of November in De Jaarbeurs exhibition center in Utrecht (The Netherlands).
